Clear blue waters and white sands scattered around the island, the chances are likely that you will visit the beach as they are one of the highlights of Maldives. Here is what you need to know about the beaches in Maafushi.
There are three beaches in Maafushi, a bikini beach, a public beach, and a coral beach.
Bikini Beach Maafushi
If you want to enjoy a good tan, basking in the tropical sun of Maldives, listening to the waves crashing to the shire Bikini beach of Maafushi is the place for you.
As the name implies, bikini beach a place where you are allowed to wear a bikini at Maafushi. Its good practice to cover yourself in the local island of Maldives where the locals reside due to religious beliefs of Maldivians, hence the introduction of bikini beaches in the local islands. This applies to all local islands of Maldives as well.
The Bikini Beach Maafushi is located in the north end of the island. If you have any trouble finding it look for the Arena Beach Hotel as the beach is right in front of the guesthouse. There is no shortage of space to lay on the beach but you’ll have to rent sunbeds and parasols for a minimum cost of about 5 dollars. To make your life easier, you could bring your own seating options such as an inflatable sun bed.
Right next to the Maafushi Bikini Beach is the water sport beach of Maafushi. As you have guessed by the name you could enjoy some thrilling water sport activities here. Public beach & Coral Beach
Bikini beach is the most popular beach among the guests, but you might want to see the other two beaches of the island as well.
Right beside the bikini beach is the public beach of Maldives. Here you will find mostly locals, enjoy a fun afternoon at the beach with their family. You will be free to stroll around as well, just not in a bikini.
The coral beach resides in the southern end of the Maafushi Island. Here you will find corals dried up on the shore of the beach, and not much sand. It’s a great place to click some photos though, to cherish your trip to Maafushi island.
The one piece of advice we will give you before vesting these beaches is, get good sun screen!
